Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool requests gender, age, general health status, tobacco use, coverage amount and term. Those six pieces of information are sufficient to return rates from carriers. Personal details like your name, address and health records are only requested if you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The rates shown are what each carrier quotes for the health tier you selected. After you apply, the carrier's underwriting team determines your final premium and health class, which may be better, the same, or different than the class you quoted. Everything displayed here is for information purposes only and is not a binding offer or guarantee of price.
What happens when I click Apply?
You provide your name and select the quote you want. The application is created from that exact quote and continues on the carriers' secure platform. You can pause and resume at any time, and sign all documents electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), handles the entire application.
Will I need a medical exam?
That depends on the carrier, the coverage amount you request, and your responses. Carriers with immediate-decision products can often decide same-day for eligible applicants; each quote on this site specifies whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
Choose a term based on when you expect to need coverage. A term should cover the years when someone would be hurt financially by your absence: a mortgage payment, children's expenses, a business debt. Longer terms lock your rate for more years, costing more monthly but providing longer security. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year options.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not ask for contact information and we do not sell, share or trade visitor data. Our web analytics are cookieless and honor Do Not Track settings; however, this site also uses a cookieless measurement beacon supplied by the content delivery provider, which does not interpret Do Not Track signals but sets no cookies and stores no personal identifiers.
